Outdoor Pursuits

Explore the natural beauty of Denison and Central Ohio through fun activities with your friends. Hiking, climbing, creeking, orienteering, planting, and camping are a few of the activities to expect. Come dressed for the weather and ready to get a bit dirty.

Held on Thursday evenings.

Farm to Table

Students visit the local farms and facilities that supply our dining halls, electric grid, and water supply. Connect first-hand with the workers, soil, fields, rivers, and animals that sustain us. In collaboration with Bon Appétit and the Denison Office of Sustainability.

Held weekly.

Land Acknowledgement

In collaboration with Indigenous tribes of Ohio and Denison anthropologists, students explore the history of the land that we occupy. Students will visit historic places like the Alligator Mound, Underground Railroad stops, and burial grounds. Students gain new insight into the Peoples who have called this hill their home throughout history.

Held throughout the semester in collaboration with the Department of Anthropology and Sociology.
