Summer 2020 Career Ready Boot Camp

Did you miss our Senior Boot Camp in January? Don't worry Class of 2020, we have your back with a refreshed virtual version for Summer 2020!
There won't be any push-ups or sprints, but there will be plenty to get you job search ready--workshops to set you up for success AND structured time you can spend refining your resume & cover letter, finding opportunities, or preparing and sending out applications, with a team of coaches there to support and guide you along the way!
Wondering if Boot Camp is right for you? It is if....
- You need guidance in finding relevant opportunities
- You need a "reset button" on your job search tools and motivation
- You need additional support and coaching as you apply
And especially if you just need some help to get you moving and on your way to achieving your post-graduation goals! We will cover the essentials that everyone needs to know for their job search, as well as sessions on specific topics that you will choose based on your interest (examples: graduate school, personal branding, a recruiter Q&A, and more!).
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Thursday, July 9th, 4:00pm ET. You MUST fill out the registration application (linked below ) to be considered as a participant. While there is an application process, we won't turn away anyone who feels they could benefit from this program. You may be asked to do some pre-work prior to attending boot camp (exploration activities or resume work) depending on where you are in your career planning process.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you are selected for this program, you will be expected to participate in ALL scheduled activities (three hours each afternoon, Eastern Time) on 7/14, 7/15, and 7/16. Therefore, you cannot have any other outside commitments during these times.

New Visions Group Virtual Info Session (Government Affairs Internship Program)

Join us on Tuesday, July 14th to hear from Vice President Ami William and Associate Emiliana Morales about the Fall 2020 Government Affairs Internship program with New Visions Group. Located in Downtown Columbus, New Visions Group enjoys the challenge of positioning businesses, non-profit organizations, and trade groups for business opportunities with municipalities, state legislatures and government agencies. They provide services such as: Direct Lobbying, Government Relations Strategic Political Counsel, and Procurement (Business Development).
Throughout the internship, interns will gain an understanding of three major sectors of the New Visions Group Intern Program including office work, research, networking, and shadowing. Interested interns will also receive the opportunity to learn about government relations, lobbying, and client work. Applications for the Fall open on July 1st and will close on August 2nd.

Description
The Sophomore Summit provides a unique opportunity to explore a variety of career paths in corporate retail at A&F. This year’s three-day virtual event will provide students the opportunity to network with recent graduates at A&F, and learning about different roles in a fun, low-pressure environment. Through interacting with senior level leaders, former interns and current associates, attendees will discover the impact A&F associates have on millions of dollars of business each day.
What Will You Be Doing?
Gain exposure and a better understanding of the retail industry and life at A&F
Learn about the variety of internship opportunities within the A&F LDPs including Merchandising, Finance, Information Technology, Business Analytics and Design
Hear from former interns about their Summer experience
Practice networking with recruiters, industry professionals and students from across the country
Team up and gain hands on experience by completing an interactive “day in the life” case study
What Do You Need to Bring?
Expected graduation year of 2022
Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
Passion for the A&F brands
Curiosity about a career in corporate retail
Ability to thrive and collaborate in team-based settings
Proven leadership experience
Ability to adapt and work in a fast-paced environment
Desire to learn more!
The Sophomore Summit will be held July 21st – 23rd virtually through TEAMS (no download necessary).
Day One: Let’s BE CURIOUS and learn! (all day)
Day Two: TEAM UP in breakout groups on a case study (4 hour time commitment)
Day Three: SHOW UP and share out on what you’ve learned (4 hour time commitment)
There will be a select number of spots available and invites will occur on a rolling basis.
To be eligible for consideration, students must also submit their unofficial transcripts and resumes, complete with cumulative GPA and SAT and/or ACT breakdown scores attached.

Emerging as a Global Leader Experience (EaGLE) Workshop

The Emerging as a Global Leader Experience (EaGLE) workshop is a brief, intense, virtual leadership development opportunity designed to empower veterans and civilians to achieve their full leadership potential and impact. It is open to all, but intended for young professionals pursuing a career in national security, foreign policy, diplomacy, development, intelligence, or international affairs.
Based on a dynamic curriculum from the McChrystal Group, incorporating the Gallup StrengthsFinder assessment, and sponsored by the MASY Group, the EaGLE Workshop will offer a small number of select participants an opportunity to achieve a career turning point. EaGLE fosters leadership development by offering an introspective experience that enhances self awareness while incorporating training strategies that amplify impact. After this workshop, participants will understand how to build their career plan to best leverage their unique strengths and values, while offering access to a network of mission-oriented professionals and exceptional mentors.
The criteria for the program:
Based in the United States
Under 32 years old
Experience as a civilian or veteran emerging leader
Strong desire to confront personal questions and willingness to share with others
Commitment to attend all four sessions
This year, our virtual format allows us to accept candidates from across the United States. We are accepting applications from Wednesday, June 17 to Monday, June 29. You don’t have to be a YPFP member to apply and there is no application fee! Once selected into the program, participants become a YPFP member.

Our Virtual Group Chat Series offers an interactive way to learn and hear directly from software engineers, and recruiters. We will cover a range of topics to help you explore our tech opportunities as well as help you prepare for the upcoming recruiting process. This is your chance to learn more and get your questions answered.

About You:
Open to all undergraduates pursuing a B.A. , B.S. and/or 5th year M.A./M.S. passionate about technology to work in a way that makes a real difference. Computer Science and/or Engineering majors are preferred but not required.
