The professional staff at the Hoaglin Wellness Center help students develop the habits and skills to manage their wellness during their time at Denison, and in their lives beyond The Hill. The Hoaglin Wellness team is devoted to providing high-quality care and empowering students to be the agents of their own well-being. Our partnerships offer expanded resources for our community.
Partnership with OSU
Denison partners with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center to deliver expanded health and wellness services for Denison students, faculty, and staff.
Fall 2023
Last year, alongside the opening of the new Hoaglin Wellness Center, Denison started a partnership with The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center (OSUWMC) to expand sports medicine services and behavioral health programming and opened two specialty clinics on campus: a musculoskeletal (MSK) clinic in the Hoaglin Wellness Center and a physical therapy clinic in the Mitchell Center. We have received positive feedback from students who have reported outstanding customer care, appreciation for on-campus access to these resources, and being able to connect with a range of OSUWMC providers.
Given the partnership’s success, we have asked OSUWMC to deliver primary care services on campus; this means that the medical clinic currently operated within the Hoaglin Wellness Center will transition to an OSUWMC-managed clinic. Students will have better access to appointments with doctors and nurse practitioners and receive an improved customer experience, including an upgraded electronic medical record, enhanced continuity of care on and off campus, and a more streamlined approach to billing and submitting insurance claims. This is a good step forward for the medical care we provide on campus to students.
We are very excited about these changes. They should give students access to enhanced medical care, and it should make using insurance plans easier.

Musculoskeletal services offered through the on-campus Ohio State Wexner Medical Center clinic at Hoaglin Wellness Center
Denison students, faculty, and staff can access physicians specializing in the comprehensive care of musculoskeletal conditions involving bones, muscles, and joints, including orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. Recover from an injury, stay active for a lifetime, or improve your physical performance. Fees for these services will be charged to student and employee insurance providers.
Physical Therapy services offered through the on-campus Ohio State Wexner Medical Center clinic at The Mitchell Center
Denison students, faculty, and staff can access specialized physical therapy and rehabilitation services, including orthopedic and sports medicine injuries. Work with our team to recover from injuries and return to your active life. Fees for these services will be charged to student and employee insurance providers.
