Career Session: Marketing Trends: What’s Next, Conversation with a Consumer Marketing Expert and Cannabis Leader

Presenters:

  • Richie Proud - Vice President, Grassroots Cannabis
  • Ron Lowis Jr ‘92- Head of Marketing Strategy, Alliance Data

If the coronavirus has shown us one thing, it is that online shopping and e-commerce have become even more important and prevalent in consumers’ lives. Richie Proud, VP of Grassroots Cannabis, the largest privately held cannabis retailer, is a leading expert on the impacts of consumer expectations and how they will impact future businesses. Alumnus, Ron Lowis Jr. ‘92, Head of Marketing Strategy for Alliance Data, will facilitate.

In our new world, Consumer businesses including the “Essential Business” of the medical cannabis industry, will need to adjust marketing messaging and interactions with customers. Customer messaging, coupled with the continual integration of marketing and technology will continue to impact careers, especially those in marketing.

A closer examination of social media, google trends, User Experiences (UX), search engine optimization (SEO) and other technology will provide insights on these trends in marketing career paths. This insightful information session will help students to better understand the changes in marketing, and how that impacts career paths.

We encourage you to read Digital Marketing during Covid-19, answering the question-why are you getting so many emails? Or consider the general overview of marketing careers, provided in the links below.
