About Vail Visiting Artists
Denison Visual Arts’ Vail Visiting Artist series is an endowed fund that invites working artists with fresh perspectives to connect with Denison students each semester. Artists come to campus to meet students in classes and performances, offer one-on-one feedback and critique, and provide support and mentorship during students’ junior and senior years.
The program strives to bring together a diversity of cutting-edge artists, methods, and backgrounds to provide students with a vision of the different ways in which art can function, question, and articulate experience in the world.
We have been fortunate to have artists as varied as: Paul Mpagi Sepuya, Zanele Muholi, Sharif Bey, Ann Hamilton, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Glenn Ligon, Alison Bechdel, Delita Martin, Darin Klein, Troy Michie, David Antonio Cruz, fierce pussy, Gordon Hall, Karen Tam, Tania Bruguera, Morehshin Allahyari, and Tanya Aguiñiga.
