Denison’s Studio Art program welcomes Vail visiting artist Jen Davis, a New York based photographer. For the past fourteen years she has been working on a series of Self-Portraits dealing with issues about beauty, identity, and body image. She has also been exploring both men and women as subject, and is interested in investigating the idea of the relationship, both physical and psychological, with her camera. She received an Master of Fine Arts from Yale University in 2008, and Bachelor of Fine Arts from Columbia College Chicago in 2002. Her recent exhibitions include Jen Davis - Self Portraits, Le Laboratoire de la Création, Paris, France (October 2013) and Male Nudes - Female Desires, Tanja Wagner Gallery, Berlin, Germany 2013.Her upcoming exhibitions include 80 Days of Summer: Stories of Identity at the International Photo Festival Ghent, Ghent, Belgium (opening in June) and Arts & Food: Expo Milano 2015 at The Pavilion at La Triennale di Milano, Milano, Italy (opening in April). Davis currently teaches at The International Center for Photography and is represented by Lee Marks Fine Art and ClampArt.
