New Faculty Orientation
We Are Pleased That You Will Be Joining Us at Denison.
New Faculty Orientation is scheduled for August 10-11, 2020. Orientation provides the opportunity to meet other faculty and develop some working relationships with them. A package containing information concerning this orientation has been sent to you; please take time to carefully review all the materials.
The links below are to inform you about important employee/teaching information.
Section I: New Employee Information
You will receive 3 letters of information during the summer. In June and July the letters will be sent to your home address followed by another in August. The August letter is sent to your email address since you will be relocating to the Denison area.
You will be given access to your email & network accounts once we receive your completed personal data information form.
Faculty members may obtain one salary advance per academic year, not in excess of one month’s gross pay. Such advances will be recovered over the remaining pay periods of the current contract year. Once approved, salary advance requests will be paid out no earlier than the first week of classes. Please expect 10-15 days for processing. Apply for a salary advance.
Moving Expenses can be reimbursed by completing this form. Please attach a sheet summarizing all expenses and supporting receipts. Reimbursement requests submitted without supporting documents could result in a delay in processing your reimbursement. As of 2018, all moving reimbursements are considered taxable benefits according to the U.S. Internal Revenue Service.
Moving Expense reimbursements are paid through payroll disbursement and must be submitted no later than the Friday of the first week of September in order to receive reimbursement with the September pay. Moving expenses submitted after the first week of September will not be reimbursed until the October pay.

Campus ID Cards
In order to receive your Denison ID number and your ID card you must complete your personal data information form.
The Faculty/Staff Picture Identification Card is issued at the time of employment for the exclusive use of the employee. There will be time during the Orientation to get your photo ID. The Denison ID number will show up on the front of your Denison ID Card. This card serves a dual purpose as an activity card and identification for Denison staff members.
This card enables the holder to attend, without charge, home athletic events. Presentation of this card is required when using the automated library circulation system and all athletic facilities, including swimming and the weight room. The Vail Arts Series, various lectures and theater presentations are also open to employees. There may be a charge for some events. Your ID card is also used for card key access to some areas on campus. The card also provides access to Denison Dollars.
You can load your Denison ID Card with funds to be used at various areas on campus. These funds are called Denison Dollars and can be used for purchases at the Bookstore, Slayter Union, Curtis and Huffman Dining Halls, as well as laundry services, vending machines and Whits Frozen Custard in Granville. You can load your card by visiting the Student Accounts Office in Doane Administration Building.
Your hiring department will take care of submitting paperwork to order your office or building key(s). Please call 740-587-6264 in advance to confirm that the key is ready for you. When ready, you may pick up your key in the Accounting Department located on the third floor of Doane Administration Building. When picking up keys, you will need to show a Denison I.D. or your driver’s license.
