Step inside a modern-day Wunderkammer — a cabinet of curiosity — drawn from the Denison Museum’s permanent collection. Rooted in a historic mode of display, this exhibition explores how individual perspective shapes interpretation and meaning.
So much of what we know — or don’t know — guides how we see the objects around us. For this exhibition, Denison faculty, staff, and students were invited to set aside expertise and historical authority, selecting objects based purely on instinct, aesthetics, and curiosity. What happens when one encounters an unfamiliar object and simply follows their sense of wonder?
Looking more closely, each object opens onto layered histories and multiple narratives. Through the voices and perspectives of people you know, unfamiliar works reveal unexpected connections and stories. Curious? Come discover hidden treasures and see which objects pull you in.
