Say It Loud, a Denison Museum exhibition on ground-breaking black artists, is more relevant than ever today. In the spirit of enlightenment and education, the Museum offers an interactive online workshop for all educators (from K to higher ed) on the artists featured in the Say It Loud exhibition.

The workshop will especially feature discussion around Titus Kaphar and Hank Willis Thomas, though educational materials on the entire exhibition are available as well.

While the skills built in this professional development seminar span across disciplines, the subject matter of Say It Loud is best suited to: History, Global Studies, Language Arts, Politics/Government, and Art.

The workshop is being offered on two dates (10/8 and 11/5) with a cap of 40 participants. Simply email to register.

Kaphar’s paintings, sculptures, and installations examine the history of representation by transforming its styles and mediums with formal innovations to emphasize the physicality and dimensionality of the canvas and materials themselves.

Thomas is a conceptual artist working primarily with themes related to perspective, identity, commodity, media, and popular culture.
