The Global Studies Seminar welcomes Denison professor Gabriele Dillmann to speak about “Making Language Relevant: The Current Refugee Crisis in the Globally Connected German Classroom.” In this talk, Dr. Dillmann will explore the causes of the recent migration, the course it has taken in Germany, and discuss the consequences for Germany as a European country. In addition, the seminar also focuses on the advantages and challenges of such a course and how our students not only significantly improve their German speaking skills via Zoom video-conferencing projects but become better equipped, interculturally competent global citizens and digitally proficient learners.
Denison University’s Global Studies Seminars are interdisciplinary intellectual forums to discuss and debate academic and policy issues of global importance.
