Integrated Career Programs

Our curriculum builds real-world skills for today’s workforce. Thirty Career Professionals offer one-on-one support to students and alumni, and seven career communities connect students with peers and mentors.

Workforce Skill Building

Denison Edge delivers industry-led programs that build in-demand skills and help students and alumni stand out in the job market. Offerings include Financial Management, Supply Chain, and Marketing Insights.

Consulting & Entrepreneurship

The Red Frame Lab helps students launch business ideas, train as consultants, and take on real projects with companies like Victoria’s Secret, DHL, and Wendy’s. These hands-on experiences set them up for future internships and jobs.

In this program, you'll learn how sustainable practices can reduce costs, create new opportunities, reduce risk, increase efficiency, and elevate a company’s reputation—while retaining employees, customers, and investors. You'll dive into the key costs of sustainable actions and gain hands-on experience in creating a cost-benefit analysis that speaks to decision-makers. By the end, you’ll be ready to project ROI and payback periods, equipping you to confidently present sustainability as a smart business strategy.

Denison Edge: Communication & Collaboration in Healthcare Accelerator

Shape your healthcare career with the skills to engage, build trust, and work toward shared goals. This program will provide you with the edge you need to stand out in a highly competitive setting. Equipping participants with essential communication tools and collaboration strategies to engage in purposeful, productive conversations, this course will help students to master the two most sought after skills in today's workplace. Through guided practice and real-world scenarios, students learn to craft dialogue that fosters mutual understanding, builds trust, and supports working toward shared goals. Emphasis is placed on developing authentic communication habits that, over time, become second nature—enabling students to connect with others in a genuine, confident, and collaborative ways.

Denison Edge: Grant Writing for Nonprofits

This four-week program will provide a basic introduction to the vital field of grant writing, equipping you with the tools (and tricks of the trade) you’ll need to get started. It will include a look at the nonprofit grants landscape; an overview of grant components and the grant life cycle; and invaluable tips for writing successful narratives, conveying impact, crafting budgets, and reporting out. Through open discussions, practical exercises (including crafting a mock grant over the duration of the program), and a roundtable with experts, you’ll come away with an understanding of grant writing, what it entails, and how it might be changing. More specifically, you’ll discover what comprises a grant and its life cycle; learn how to identify relevant grants; garner tips for writing compelling narratives and reports; acquire tools for conveying data and impact; and explore how AI might be affecting the field.

Denison Edge: Finance Pathway

The Finance Pathway through Denison Edge is an immersive 8-week experience designed to help students explore career paths in finance, connect with successful alumni, and prepare for competitive internships and jobs in the industry. Through a mix of foundational instruction, industry insight, and exclusive networking, participants will gain a clearer understanding of finance roles—from investment banking to fintech—and learn how to navigate recruiting timelines with confidence.

Denison Edge: Graphic Design Accelerator

This introductory graphic design program teaches students the foundations of visual communication, with a focus on brand identity creation and implementation. Participants will explore the core principles of design—such as typography, illustration and color theory—while learning how to bring ideas to life using tools inside Adobe’s Creative Suite

Recruiting for careers and internships

Students can participate in on-campus employer recruiting programs and they can connect directly with employers, and learn about internship opportunities. Students can also get information about their professional interests through on-campus informational sessions, interviews, trips, and networking opportunities across the US.

Flexible opportunities for student athletes

Denison brings career coaching directly to student-athletes to engage in career preparation while juggling demanding practice and competition schedules. Through workshops brought directly to the Mitchell Center and direct collaboration with teams, Career Coaches help students articulate and leverage their experiences as student-athlete in their career-planning journey.

Career-infused classroom learning

Denison provides career liaisons and career exploration and outcome programming to our faculty to help students articulate the workplace relevance of their coursework experience.

Skill-building for student employees

On-campus jobs provide students the opportunity to develop personally and professionally while gaining skills that will help as they launch into careers post-Denison. A special student employment career series offers interactive workshops to student employees to leverage their on-campus employment as they become career ready.
