Interning with economic development powerhouse One Columbus, Palasigue learned about the workforce ecosystem here in the Columbus region and the behind the scenes development that leads to economic growth.

“I went into the program trying to get some experience before I graduated and I gained more than I had expected,” she says. “After Denison, I will be continuing to work with One Columbus in a full-time capacity as a Workforce Development Specialist. I am excited to get to continue my work at the organization and build relationships that have lasting positive impacts on the region.”

Palasgue choose Denison for the rigorous academics. “Little did I know what I was going to get myself into. Over the four years, I was challenged to grow in various aspects of my life - personally, academically, and professionally.”

“I really enjoyed classes that fit my broad range of academic interests. I loved getting to know my friends that I met here and getting to build meaningful relationships with people from different backgrounds.”

“My favorite memory was getting the opportunity to go abroad in the Dominican Republic which allowed me to gain perspective to the world beyond The Hill,” says Palasigue, who added a Spanish minor to her achievements.

Looking back, it was difficult at times but the work and my time spent here was ultimately rewarding and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
