Employee Housing
Denison provides the benefits of a living/learning community to our faculty and staff through several housing options. These options are ideal for employees who want to live in the Granville community with its walkable, tree-lined streets, charming shops and restaurants, and excellent school system. Granville is just 25 minutes from both the abundant shopping and restaurants at Easton Towne Center and the John Glenn International Airport in Columbus.
Housing options
Denison offers various rental housing opportunities for faculty and staff on a first-come, first-served basis. These include several homes and apartments in the Village of Granville and an all-new apartment neighborhood next to campus just outside of town.
Hillside Drive Apartments
Available exclusively for Denison faculty and staff, Hillside Drive Apartments are located a short walk from campus. This new community supports employees joining Denison or current employees who have chosen to relocate to the Granville area.
All units include free on-site parking, a range, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, washer, dryer, and air conditioning.
- 1 bedroom/1 bath units from 655-823 square feet.
- Monthly rents* ranging from $1,300-1,650.
- 2 bedroom/2½ bath units range from 1,226-1,680 square feet.
- Monthly rents* ranging from $2,200-$2,475.
- All units are non-smoking.
- Pets are allowed with the payment of a $300 (non-refundable) pet fee and a surcharge of $25 added to the monthly rental rate.
- Parking options include free on-site parking, some covered, some open, and a limited number of garages at an additional cost of $75/month.

In addition to the benefits of living close to work with a minimal commute, those who live in the Granville community experience a uniquely rewarding small-town lifestyle. They are also adjacent to all the benefits of Columbus, the 15th-largest city in the nation and one of America’s fastest-growing metropolitan areas.
Granville school system, one of Ohio’s finest: Granville Schools are among Ohio’s best public school districts, serving approximately 2,600 students in four schools. Nearby private schools include Welsh Hills School and Granville Christian Academy, as well as a number of preschools.
Vibrant community life: There’s always something to do in Granville, including holiday celebrations, community events, and a variety of dining venues. In addition to a grocery and pharmacy, there are many local shopping options in Granville. Historic Newark, with a plethora of big-box retailers, theaters, and other conveniences, is less than 10 minutes away. Arts, music, athletics, and intellectual pursuits: Denison, Granville, and Licking County boast thriving performing and fine arts events and venues, including museums, art galleries, concerts, and music festivals. Denison, the Granville Library, Bryn Du Mansion, and other venues host lectures on a wide variety of topics that are generally free and open to the community. The 18-hole Denison Golf Club in Granville, designed in 1924 by Scottish golf course architect Donald Ross, has been noted as one of the best public courses in the Midwest, and many of Denison’s 26 varsity sports compete regularly for titles, including two NCAA national championships in 2025.
