Eligibility
Staff
Full-time employees are eligible to participate in our benefits program. Part-time employees are eligible to purchase coverage at full cost.
Faculty
Faculty working the equivalent of .75 FTE are eligible to participate in our benefits program. Part-time faculty with an FTE of less than .75 are eligible to purchase coverage at full cost.
Denison University’s medical plans offer great flexibility in managing care for you and your family. As part of your benefits package, employees can choose from two medical plans. Plans include options for a Healthcare Saving Plan (HSA) and Dependent Care and Healthcare Flexible Savings Accounts (FSA). These plans are administered through Anthem.
Dental plan
Staying healthy includes access to quality dental care for you and your family. Denison University’s dental plan is administered through Delta Dental of Ohio, which includes an extensive network of providers.
Vision Plan
Denison is pleased to offer a vision program through MetLife. MetLife’s network has over 20,000 vision providers in the United States.
Pharmacy plan
Denison offers our employees excellent pharmacy coverage through TrueScripts.
Tuition benefits
Dependent children of Denison faculty and staff are eligible for the following tuition programs after completion of five years of uninterrupted full-time employment: Tuition-free scholarships at Denison (normal university admissions standards apply), the Tuition Cash Assistance Award, and Tuition Remission at any of the Great Lakes College Association (GLCA) schools. Full-time employment in a higher education institution or non-profit organization could provide some credit toward the five-year waiting period.
- A staff member, spouse, or domestic partner may take courses at Denison after the 90-day introductory period.
- Spouses and domestic partners who have a degree are eligible to take one course per semester.
Retirement benefits
You can build your future with Denison’s matching contributions. Denison invests in your long-term security through a TIAA retirement annuity plan. Full-time staff are qualified from the start of their employment. Part-time staff qualify after working 1,000 hours in a year
- 10% employer contribution on salary up to the Social Security base
- 15% employer contribution on salary above the base
