Help Promote by Choosing Local

One way you can help promote sustainability is by choosing local. Whether choosing where to shop, where to eat, or what to buy, your support of local farmers and businesses goes a long way towards helping the local economy and promoting sustained economic development. Buying local creates more jobs, keeps dollars in the community, reduces environmental impact, improves local services and organizations, and generally leads to a stronger, more vibrant community. Many Denisonians took advantage of the Big Red Buyers Club and our local CSA partnerships with Birds Haven Farms and Sunbeam Family Farm. In all cases, members of the Denison community can get fresh local foods brought to them right here on campus. Granville and Newark also boast two of the best farmers' markets in Central Ohio. In addition, there are many local and family-owned restaurants, stores and businesses that benefit greatly when we choose to shop local.
