Denison is excited to announce the arrival of their latest 3D printer – the FormLabs Form 2. This new resin SLA (Stereolithography) will bring the total number of printers in the Mulberry MIX Lab to seven, including four Lulzbot Minis, a large format Lulzbot Taz 5, and an Ultimaker 2e. Prior to the arrival of the Form 2, all of Denison’s printers were FDM (Fused deposition modeling) machines which are functional, but have limited resolution. The new Form 2 will allow students to print objects they have designed with 25 microns of resolution - nearly the width of a human hair. Students plan to print models of complex yet delicate structures such as hemoglobin and RNA, as well as use photogrammetry to design their own personalize chess set comprised of their classmates.
