History
The Department of History seeks to develop in its students an appreciation for the richness, diversity, and complexities of human history. In the course of their studies, students are exposed to a wide range of different historical periods and geographic regions, including courses on the history of America, Latin America, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.

What you’ll study as a History major
You’ll investigate how political, social, economic, religious, cultural, and intellectual dynamics shape human actions, ideas, and experiences across time and place. Beyond the Classroom
Internships
Take an internship (or two!) to explore careers related to history. History majors have interned at the Ronald Reagan Institute, US Chamber of Commerce, Cardinal Health, and Wilkinson Stekloff LLP.
Study Abroad
Study in your chosen region to enhance your language skills and cultural agility while building your career network. Conduct research during a semester abroad or complete a summer internship in another country.
Summer Scholars
Delve into independent research through our Summer Scholars program. All Summer Scholars receive a stipend and a housing allowance, plus supplemental funds for research expenses.
