Biography

Hometown: Memphis, TN

Undergraduate Major: Modern Languages and Literatures (focus in Chinese) and Asian Studies

Hobbies/Activities: I love traveling (which is a nice perk of this job!) and trying new foods and local specialties wherever I am. When not on the road, I enjoy spending time at home, relaxing with either a movie/TV show or book. I like most genres, but I tend to gravitate towards thrillers, historical fiction, or fantasy/sci-fi. However, I also love a goofy comedy or an action movie!

Fun Fact: I met my husband while living in Beijing, China!

Something I love about Denison: The people! As a newer staff member, the students, faculty, and other staff have been incredibly welcoming. The community here is also very collaborative and supportive.

Advice to Prospective Students: Talk with current students when you can! There’s no better way to get a sense of the community than by speaking with potential classmates. These are the true experts on what it’s like to live and study at whatever school you’re considering. If you have the chance to visit, talk to people when you’re touring and when you’re walking around on your own. If a visit isn’t yet possible, following an institution's social media pages or reading an online version of a student newspaper is another great way to get a sense of what’s important to the student body.
