Denison to host Vice President Mike Pence for Babcock Lecture

Babcock Lecture
March 18, 2026

Denison University will host Vice President Mike Pence for a moderated discussion as part of the Babcock Lecture Series on the conservative tradition at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, in Swasey Chapel.

The discussion, titled “Conserving American Institutions — A Conversation with Mike Pence,” will be moderated by Katy Crossley-Frolick, associate provost and political science professor. Tickets are required for entry and must be reserved in advance online.

Established in 1982 by the late Mary Elizabeth Babcock, a Denison alum and Johnstown, Ohio, philanthropist, the Babcock Lecture Series supports the exploration of the American conservative tradition and reflects Denison’s broader commitment to the principles of a liberal arts education: rigorous inquiry, exposure to diverse viewpoints, and thoughtful engagement across differences.

Previous guests hosted through the Babcock Lecture Series include: former Secretary of State James Baker; columnists William F. Buckley and George F. Will; U.S. Senator and former Presidential Candidate Bob Dole; political analysts William Kristol, Ana Navarro, and Jonah Goldberg; former Governors Jon Huntsman and Bobby Jindal; and former White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus, among others.

Due to venue capacity, tickets are required. Tickets are free but must be reserved in advance. Enhanced event security protocols will be in effect, including screening before the event begins. Early arrival is strongly encouraged.
