Composed by Karl Jenkins as a reflection on the end of the 20th century—the “most war-torn and destructive century in human history”—this contemporary oratorio speaks powerfully to our world today. Performed by the Denison Symphony Orchestra, Concert Choir and Chamber Singers, the work draws on sacred texts from Judeo-Christian, Islamic and Hindu traditions, as well as writings by Tennyson, Kipling and Sankichi Toge, a survivor of the Hiroshima bombing.
