Denison University’s Laura C. Harris Series welcomes Barbara Shaw and Isis Nusair to talk about their new co-edited book titled Pedagogies of Interconnectedness: Feminist-Queer Collaborative Transformation

The anthology explores how collaboration can be a radical, relational act of resistance and resilience. They invite faculty and students to reflect on how we turn toward, hold space, and build/sustain community during these challenging times.

Barbara Shaw is Associate Professor and Chair of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Allegheny College. Her scholarship focuses on intersectional and transnational feminist and queer theory, global women’s health, Caribbean (im)migration and diasporic cultures, and social movements. She holds degrees from Colby College, the University of Maryland, College Park, and the University of Birmingham (UK).

Isis Nusair is Professor of Women’s and Gender Studies and International Studies at Denison University. Her research centers on the experiences of refugees from Iraq, Palestine and Syria, feminist pedagogies, and representations of war and displacement in media. She is also a translator and performance collaborator.
