Denison’s Studio Art program welcomes Jim Winters. His democratic approach to art-making has moved his work fluidly between the realms of gallery/museum work, zine culture, street art, performance art, community involvement and high end graphic and interior design work. In addition to exhibiting at various artist-run galleries (ESP, Scene/Escena, Little Frankenstein’s, Showroom), he has been in group shows at larger venues: New Langton Arts and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco, and the Institute of Contemporary Art in Philadelphia. His life and work was documented in the film Super Feature: The Art of Jim Winters by Flowers Frankenstein and Michael Wertz. His work in the collections of Jason Goldberg, CEO of Fab.com, Ana Matronic of the pop group Scissor Sisters, singers Justin Bond and Rufus Wainwright amongst others.
