Denison University shares in Granville’s annual celebration, the “Christmas Candlelight Walking Tour,” with an afternoon and evening of festivities. Join us and participate in hands-on activities, musical games, workshops, performances, and a full musical production.

4- 4:30 p.m. Denison Bluegrass Ensemble in the Burke Rehearsal Room. This group of highly regarded student musicians are always a crowd pleaser.

4 - 5 p.m. Jazz Combo and Latin Jazz Percussion in Eisner 144. Denison’s student jazz-masters perform jazz favorites. Just try to sit while enjoying this music!

4:30 - 5 p.m. Special Tours of “About Ourselves/Inside Ourselves” Exhibition in the Denison Museum. Exhibition features artists documenting their own stories exploring the interaction between LGBTQ+ identities and history.

4:30 - 5 p.m. Solo piano with Senior Music major Shengbo Shi in Eisner 238.

5 - 6 p.m. Chamber Music Ensembles in Eisner 238. Enjoy a variety of chamber music ensembles and explore the second floor of the Eisner Center on your way.

5 - 5:30 p.m.  Hands-on music with Third Coast Percussion in the Broadway Level Hallway. Be part of the creation of “Playbook,” a ‘musical game/composition’ by Danny Clay with Denison ensemble-in-residence, Third Coast Percussion. A fun, hands-on, and beautiful soundscape is created through this participatory exercise. Come and go as you please – this is a continuous activity.

5 - 5:30 p.m. Denison’s Burpee’s Seedy Theatrical Company in Eisner 144. Enjoy some improv comedy with the longest running improv group in the country, where you may even become part of the show! 

5:30 - 6 p.m. Listen or join in favorite selections as Denison’s Chamber Singers stroll throughout the Eisner Center.

6 p.m. Department of Dance Fall Student Concert, “No Single Perspective” in the Thorsen Dance Studio.  Four selections will rotate with 10-minute breaks in between, allowing you to enter and stay for as many as you prefer. Selected pieces will feature Denison ensemble-in-residence Third Coast Percussion providing live accompaniment.  

7:30 p.m. Singer’s Theater Workshop presents “Pirates of Penzance” in the Sharon Martin Hall. The show is appropriate for all ages and features a live orchestra, lovely maidens, Major- Generals, bobbies, and of course pirates! You will love this hilarious comedy romp through Penzance. Tickets are free but required at Denison.edu/events/arts.

8 p.m. Department of Dance Fall Student Concert, “No Single Perspective” in the Thorsen Dance Studio. “No Single Perspective” offers four works composed by faculty and performed by students in Thorsen Dance Studio and hallway locations. Selected pieces will feature a Denison ensemble-in-residence, Third Coast Percussion, providing live accompaniment. Tickets are free but required at Denison.edu/events/arts
