In the heat of August, it’s nice to know that someone thinks you’re cool.

The Sierra Club has just released their list of Cool Schools - these are colleges and universities that are committed to sustainable practices - ways to keep our environment green and cool.

Denison made the list and we’re in the top 100.

What makes a school cool? The Sierra Club evaluates 18 indicators — including curriculum, research, campus engagement, buildings, energy usage, food & dining choices — as they choose the schools that make the cut. Denison’s new solar array, commitment to local food, and LEED-certified buildings, plus our Environmental Studies major and other sustainable initiatives make us a top contender.
