Courses
Bachelor of Science in Finance
The Bachelor of Science in Finance (FIN) requires 14 courses. The twelve core classes are ECON 101: Introductory Macroeconomics, ECON 102: Introductory Microeconomics, FIN 149: Financial Accounting, ECON 302: Intermediate Microeconomic Analysis, ECON 307: Introductory Econometrics, FIN 201: Principles of Finance, FIN 301: Money, Finance, and the Macroeconomy, FIN 302: Corporate Finance, FIN 450: Finance Capstone, MATH 135: Single Variable Calculus, MATH 145: Multivariable Calculus, and any 200-level MATH course. In addition to these core classes, finance students will complete two elective courses. At least one elective must have the FIN designation, and at least one elective must be at or above the 300 level.
At most three MATH courses in the Finance major can count towards any major or minor offered in the Mathematics Department. Students are advised to take ECON 201 and at least one 300-level FIN course before taking the 200-level required MATH course.
