Biography

I joined Denison’s Red Frame Lab in January 2025. The Red Frame Lab is Denison’s unique space in Slayter where students can design their lives, launch a business, work as consultants to internal or external clients, or tackle academic or non-academic challenges. The Red Frame also collaborates with faculty from across the University on events and courses, as well as with partners in the Knowlton Center for Career Exploration and Denison Edge.

Before coming to Denison, I spent 15 years as a faculty member at liberal arts colleges. After earning my Ph.D. in Statistics from The Ohio State University, I spent four years at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, Minnesota, where I co-founded the Statistics major and minor. In 2017, I moved to the College of Wooster, where I co-founded the Statistics & Data Science program in 2019 and earned tenure in 2021. As an educator, I developed courses centered on active learning, project-based learning, and student ownership of learning.

Beyond my faculty role, I co-directed Wooster’s Applied Methods & Research Experience (AMRE), a full-time summer consulting business staffed by undergraduate student consultants. AMRE teams of 2-4 students, guided by faculty advisors, work on real-world projects for corporate, government, and nonprofit clients. In this role, I managed all aspects of the business, including client cultivation, project development, hiring and mentoring students and faculty advisors, budgeting, administration, and collaboration.

I am excited to bring my experience as an educator and consulting center director to the Red Frame Lab. In addition to mentoring students and working with clients through Denison Consulting, I look forward to expanding faculty partnerships across the University. I’m also eager to learn more about consulting, entrepreneurship, and design thinking from the incredible Red Frame Team!

In my free time, I enjoy spending time outdoors, especially with my three cats, two kids, and one husband. Indoors, I love playing board games and watching PBS. As a central Ohio native, I’m thrilled to be back near friends and family.
