Jen P. Harris is a Cleveland-based artist, raised in Baltimore. Harris received a Bachelor of Arts in Studio Art from Yale University and a Master of Fine Arts in Painting from Queens College CUNY. She was awarded a Fellowship in Painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2012 and a Pollock Krasner Grant in 2025. Her works are in numerous public and private collections and are featured in the book “TEXTILES x ART: How Textiles Are Shaping Contemporary Art” (Thames and Hudson, 2025).

In her current work, Harris combines painting with weaving techniques to create hybrid objects that question the conventions of both mediums. Informed by queer and feminist craft histories, modernist painting, and esoteric knowledge systems, this body of work uses low relief and pictorial abstraction to conjure the in-betweenness of queer embodiment, exploring themes of liminality, transformation, and the numinous.
