Denison Studio Art is proud to welcome back Studio Art BFA alum, Yue Nakayama. Yue will be showing her work in the Bryant Gallery, and doing a screening which will be in the Cinema Department theater. We are looking forward to her sharing her experience with current students, and seeing how her work has grown and developed since graduation.

Yue Nakayama is a Houston based artist and filmmaker whose work addresses interpersonal communications within multicultural environments and across belief systems. Screenings and exhibitions of her work have been held in various venues across the United States and beyond including Museum of Fine Arts Houston, ICA Philadelphia, and Visual Art Center - University of Texas Austin. Nakayama is the recipient of the Arch and Anne Giles Kimbrough Fund - Dallas Museum of Art, and Houston Arts Alliance - Individuals Artists Grant. Residencies she has been awarded include the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, the Core Program at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and The Lighthouse Works Fellowship. Nakayama received MFA from University of Pennsylvania and BFA from Denison University.
