The Denison University Department of Theatre is delighted to announce that Robyn Taylor ’26 is the first recipient of the Gary McAvay Internship Award, which will support her educational and artistic experiences in New York City this semester.
Robyn is currently in residence during her off-campus study in the Great Lakes Colleges Association’s New York Arts program. A junior from Bellshill, Scotland, Robyn majors in theatre and psychology. She attended programs at the UK Theatre School and the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and, at Denison, has acted in You on the Moors Now, Lobby Hero, and The 39 Steps, Abridged, as well as stage-managing Eurydice.
The Gary McAvay Internship Award honors Gary McAvay ’75, who participated in the same GLCA program during his time as a student and worked in a Broadway general manager’s office. The internship led to a job after graduation and to a successful career as a Broadway producer, including a role as president of Columbia Artists Management’s theatrical division.
