International studies major Erin Worden '17 has been recognized by theCollege of Global Studies at Arcadia University with the 2016 Global Scholar Award.

Arcadia Dean Andy Law visited Denison on April 14, 2017, to present Worden with a plaque and to honor her work. The Global Scholar Awardee is selected from the 6,000 study abroad students with whom Arcadia works each year. The award is for excellence in academic achievement and co-curricular engagement. It carries a cash prize.

A graduating senior, Worden studied abroad in Athens during spring 2016. She was nominated for the award by Dr. Jan Sanders, Director of Arcadia in Greece, for her excellent work at Inter Alia and Caritas Hellas in Athens as well as the engaging academic work created about these experiences. Dr. Sanders praised Worden’s articulate and passionate advocacy for issues surrounding gender identity and her thoughtful peer mentorship during her Athens program.
