Every year we honor our seniors and outstanding students at our Annual Awards Banquet. It's an enjoyable social event and an opportunity to recognize our majors. Our tradition is to invite an alum to visit campus, meet with faculty and students and give a seminar. This year's guest alum was Amy Landis '01. Amy is currently an Associate Professor at Arizona State University School of Sustainable Engineering and the Built Environment. She gave a seminar entitled “Biobased plastics: Sustainable systems design and green chemistry for polylactic acid polymers“.

At the banquet a number of awards are given ranging from freshman achievement awards, to outstanding senior major planning graduate school, academic excellence, service to the department, American Chemical Society awards in specific fields and many more.
