Built in 1930 for the Sigma Chi Fraternity, this building is home to University Communications and Emeriti Faculty.
History & Architecture
Built for the Mu chapter of Sigma Chi fraternity, the Colonial style house featured exterior stone from a Newark quarry, and the Hawkins Company of Newark served as general contractors.
On the first floor of the finely styled Sigma Chi House, you’ll find the Woody Hayes Memorial Library, honoring the 1935 alumnus, former Denison football standout and undefeated coach, and legendary Ohio State University coach.
