A residence hall with single and double rooms on West Quad home to first year students.
History & Architecture
The design is Simulated Georgian style combined with "Hotel Moderne". Built by Gilbert Steltzer, Shorney Hall was called the New Men's Dorm until 1971 was renamed in honor of G. Herbert Shorney, member of the class of 1918 and trustee, 1929-1971.
The building was renamed after G. Herbert Shorney, member of the class of 1918 and trustee, 1929-1971. His grandson, Scott Shorney '88, still holds the NCAC track & field record in both the indoor and outdoor long jump.
