Variant 6 in concert

Renowned Philadelphia-based ensemble Variant 6 brings virtuosic vocal chamber music for five voices to the Eisner Center, spanning Renaissance classics, 20th-century gems and works by composers of the past decade. Praised by “Gramophone” for their “astonishing tonal focus, pinpoint intonation, subtlety of expression and sheer vocal virtuosity,” the ensemble explores the remarkable range of sound and expression possible with one voice to a part. The program features music by Grimace, Claudio Monteverdi, Maurice Ravel, Benjamin Britten, Herbert Howells and living composers Benjamin C.S. Boyle, David Shapiro and Gabriel Jackson.
