Alumni & Parent Mentoring
Alumni and Parent Networks and Mentors
Denison alumni and parents understand the value of a Denison education. They know that our students and graduates have the knowledge, skills, and habits that make great interns and employees — and they are eager to help extended members of their Denison family.
Networking is an essential tool to help you find internships, externships and that first job that will help you launch onto your individualized career path. We’ve got networking tips and some great platforms that will help you connect with Denison alumni and parents, as well as employers, in your field.
Wisr is an online tool that allows you to connect with Denison alumni and parents who are in your field of interest or city. Sign in and you can search for the topic that interests you. Once you find people you want to contact, you can use Wisr to message them or to make an appointment. Both are great ways to start learning more. Sign Up for Wisr.
LinkedIn is a terrific place to search for people in your field of interest and make connections with them. Sign in to LinkedIn and set up a profile, noting your Denison affiliation. You’ll need a good picture of yourself, some basic information and a short bio/elevator speech. Talk to your counselor at Knowlton if you have any questions.
Denison Connecting adds the power of almost 40,000 alumni and friends to your career network. Denisonians — including students and recent alumni — get together at events around the world to network and learn from fellow alumni and industry experts. Live gatherings and virtual events create conversations and build relationships. Go to Denison Connecting events in your city to network and take part in virtual industry-specific events to gain knowledge and make connections in your field.
