Denison University welcomes Sara Simon from the New York Times presenting “From An English Major to A Software Engineer,” at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, in Room 114 of the F.W. Olin Science Hall. The event is free and open to the public.

Simon is a software engineer on the Interactive News Technologies team at the New York Times, where her work focuses on tools for research and news gathering. She’s also dabbled in data reporting at the Times, lending a hand to stories that span homicide convictions to abortion restrictions to the Miss America pageant. Simon studied English at Wellesley College before heading to the non-profit Turing School of Software and Design. She came to the Times from Vermont Public Radio, where she was a web developer.
