Biography

Joy values learning, collaboration, growth, and empowering others, which has led to a meaningful career in higher education. She has been serving at colleges and universities for over twenty years in various roles with a special focus on academic success, advising, and student well-being. She finds it a privilege to meet with students and assist them in envisioning and achieving their academic and personal goals.

Joy has been involved with a variety of national and local professional organizations over the years and is currently a member of HECMA (Higher Education Case Managers Association). She also greatly enjoys the personal and professional development that can happen through personality and interest assessments and is certified to administer and interpret the Myers-Briggs® Type Indicator Step I™ and Step II™, the Strong Interest Inventory®, and CliftonStrengths®.

Outside of work, Joy can be found reading, taking walks in nature, traveling (especially internationally), playing board games, and hanging out with her family.
