We welcome four distinguished alumni working in the field of Sustainability to share their career trajectories, insights into working in this field, and lessons learned from their Denison experience. Check out their bios. Join us immediately after the panel discussion for a networking reception in the Burton Morgan Welsh Hills Room. This event is open to students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.

About our panel…

Alicia Lay Leuba is the Vice President of Strategic Partnerships, Cary Institute of Ecosystem Studies. Lay Leuba is a nonprofit executive with more than 30 years of experience advancing conservation, climate resilience, historic preservation, and ecosystem science. Her career sits at the intersection of strategy, philanthropy, public policy, and community engagement, where she helps national and international mission-driven organizations secure the partnerships and resources needed to deliver measurable impact. 

Kristine Perry is an attorney committed to advancing human rights in the environmental context. She works primarily on international issues, with a focus on Latin America. Perry leads the Environmental Law Institute’s work on environmental defenders. She has experience in judicial training on deforestation issues in Colombia, environmental crimes in Peru, migration with dignity, as well as enforcement issues more broadly. Prior to joining ELI, Perry worked for Amnesty International where her work on international human rights focused on the rights of persons with disabilities, gender, policy development, and strategic litigation. She also has experience in refugee and migrants’ rights. Her previous work was conducted in the MENA region, Europe, Africa, North America, as well as Latin America.  

Jen Lyndall is a Certified Senior Ecologist, a Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner and a Principal at Integral Consulting. She has 25 years of experience primarily focusing on contaminated sites, natural resource damage assessment (NRDA), ecological risk assessment, and ecological restoration. After graduating Denison in the class of 1998, Lyndall earned a master’s degree in marine biology with a concentration in toxicology from the College of Charleston in South Carolina. She started her career with the federal government - as a toxicologist and Natural Resource Trustee representative for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. She has also worked in the nonprofit sector for the Society for Ecological Restoration and for the private sector in multiple consulting firms. As a Principal consultant, Lyndall focuses on litigation, regulatory compliance, and strategic risk reduction for complex environmental challenges.  

Becky Geyer ‘07, is a Remedial Project Manager (RPM) with the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 8 in Denver, CO. She has 18 + years of experience with EPA. Her current focus is cleaning up Superfund Sites contaminated with lead in soil. Prior to becoming an RPM, she spent a year as a Project Coordinator in Flint, MI during the Flint Drinking Water Response. Before Flint, she began her career in the Non-Hazardous Waste Management Program in Region 5 EPA in Chicago. Throughout her tenure she has participated in the management team of multiple emergency response efforts including: California Wildfires (2017, 2020), East Palestine Derailment, Flint Drinking Water Response, and Typhoon Mawar. Becky has also worked with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) on air contamination and with the Ohio EPA focusing on water quality.
