Ball-Licorish honored with citation

July 15, 2013

Nancy Ball-Licorish, director of Sponsored Programs at Lafayette College and successful local volunteer, has recently been recognized for her work by her alma mater Denison University with an alumni citation, the highest honor bestowed upon a graduate or friend of the college.

After receiving a master’s degree from Indiana University, Ball-Licorish began her career at Denison, working in admissions and educational services for five years. She was appointed the first director of DART, a network of alumni to help recruit students. After her tenure there, Ball-Licorish pursued graduate work at the University of Pennsylvania and furthered her career at Lafayette College, initially in development and more recently in the Provost’s Office.

Ball-Licorish has served on the Boards of the Easton YWCA (now Third Street Alliance for Women and Children) and the Bucks County Housing Group (BCHG), as well as volunteering for the local PBS station, Quakertown Food Bank, US Marine Corps’ Toys for Tots, Upper Bucks YMCA, Easton YMCA, and Weller Health Center. In 2008, she was appointed to the Community Development Advisory Board for the Bucks County Department of Community and Economic Development. She is a recipient of the Shelley Partlon and Beyond 2012 Awards, both from BCHG.

Along side her local volunteer efforts, Ball-Licorish maintained her ties with Denison as a DART and Career Network member, an annual fund and capital campaign volunteer, and member of her class reunion gift committees. She served as a member-at-large and then president of the Denison Alumni Council and, while president, led the group through its first strategic planning effort and later was a member of the second strategic planning committee. While serving as an Alumni-Nominated Trustee (1998-2004), she chaired the Trustee-appointed Ad Hoc Committee on Greek Life and now is a Trustee Fellow. From 2007-09, she was the National Annual Fund Chair and a member of the Capital Campaign Executive Committee.
