QuestBridge connects exceptionally high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds with leading institutions of higher education with the goal of increasing the percentage of talented low-income students attending the nation’s best universities.
Denison University today announced it has been selected as a QuestBridge partner college, becoming one of only 45 universities in the country to be part of the program. QuestBridge connects high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds to the nation’s best colleges and universities. Denison will be accepting QuestBridge applications beginning in fall 2021 for the class entering in 2022.
“Denison has long been committed to providing high-achieving students with access to an exceptional academic experience and to mentorship and career-readiness support to prepare them for successful lives and careers,” said Denison University President Adam Weinberg. “We are honored to be a QuestBridge partner and look forward to working with them to provide more students the opportunity for a life-changing education.”
Denison University is already one of only a few dozen colleges in the nation with a guarantee to meet the full demonstrated financial need of all admitted students. In recent years, the college more than doubled the amount of need-based financial aid it makes available to students.
“QuestBridge is one of the best programs in the nation for identifying high-achieving students from low income backgrounds and helping them find the right college match,” said Gregory Sneed, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “We are proud to join other QuestBridge partner colleges and universities in making the dream of an exceptional college education accessible and affordable to more students, regardless of income level.”
QuestBridge partner colleges must demonstrate a commitment to supporting outstanding students from low-income backgrounds, both financially and otherwise, inside and outside of the classroom and for the rest of their lives. Denison joins an impressive list of partner colleges and universities, is one of only two partner colleges in Ohio and is one of only a small handful in the Midwest.
“We are excited to expand our outstanding college options for QuestBridge applicants with the addition of Denison University,” said Ana McCullough, QuestBridge Co-Founder and CEO. “The commitment shown by President Weinberg, Vice President Sneed, and other leaders at Denison toward serving students from low-income backgrounds, combined with the school’s core value of educating students for lives of professional and personal success, resonate deeply with us. We are honored to engage in this new partnership and are eager for our QuestBridge Scholars to take part in the vibrant community at Denison.”
