Just passing through

The original Whisler Hospital (1929) looked exactly as Whisler Hall does today, except for the unpaved roadway and the picturesque porte-cochère, literally a “coach gateway,” which protected arrivals (and departures) from precipitation. It was shortened into a porch in the 1950s.

River Road Coffee drink

Sip sip, hooray!

A longtime favorite of Denisonians, this old house-turned-coffee shop offers students the chance to crack open the books on its porch on sunny days and head inside on dark and stormy nights. Hot, iced, or frozen, River Road Coffee House has something caffeinated for everyone.

Poppies popping

This hillside of bright red poppies provides an inspired excuse for those of us climbing The Hill to pause and catch our breath. A collective thanks to the Jean Holman Preston ’55 Endowment Fund for Horticultural Enrichment—which helps make campus look so splendid.
