“Blowing off S.T.E.A.M. (Science Technology Engineering Art Mathematics)” is an informal community-based forum discussion featuring different topic leaders each month. Brought to you by Ohio State University-Newark, Denison University, and the Granville Public Library.

Rebecca Reczek, professor of marketing at the Ohio State University Fisher College of Business, will present her latest research on how invoking “science” can impact how people (consumers) decide to buy products. We’ll learn when talking about science can be helpful, but also when it can backfire and make a product less appealing to some consumers!  After learning about this cutting edge-research, Reczek will be joined by Nestor Matthews (professor of psychology) and Joe Reczek (professor of chemistry; Rebecca’s husband) for an audience-participation discussion about possible implications of this research towards fostering more positive, and effective, science communication in our society.

The event is free, but registration is required through this link from the Granville Public Library.
