Denison University welcomes Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Genetics from the University of Kansas Jennifer Raff, presenting “Untangling the knot: genetics, ancestry, identity, and race.”

Raff will discuss the history of scientific racism in the disciplines of biology and anthropology, how the majority of biological anthropologists interpret human patterns of variation today, and offer some suggestions to both the scientific community and general public for reframing the ways in which we explore race, genetics, and identity.

This event is sponsored by the Race and Genetics: Histories, Legacies, Continuities Academic Research Table and the Department of Biology. Funding provided by the Lisska Center and the Ronneberg Fund.
