Denison’s endowment is managed by an internal Investment Office with oversight from an Investment Committee of the Board of Trustees. The Investment Office is focused on pursuing a targeted investment strategy within a risk and return framework determined by the Committee and the Board. The Investment Office is overseen by a group of professionals focused on the diversification of portfolio assets and has continually added top-tier investment managers to the program, resulting in strong risk-adjusted growth of our foundational assets.

The Investment Office does not select individual stocks or bonds for the endowment portfolio but rather pursues investments and long-term relationships with exceptional third-party investment managers. This is a “manager of managers” approach followed by most endowments, foundations, and similar investors of long-term, institutional capital.

The Investment Office is also supportive of students and tries to provide ways to work with students who are interested in learning about investments or who want to pursue careers in finance. The Investment Office offers internships to a number of Denison students and works closely with other students through its involvement with the Investment Club.
