Dr. Hollis Griffin Becomes Columnist for Flow-TV

Hollis Griffin, Assistant Professor of Communication, has begun a stint as an online columnist for the publication Flow: A Critical Forum on Television & Media Culture.

Flow is an online journal of television and media studies that is organized and hosted by the department of Radio, Television, and Film at the University of Texas—Austin. Over the past few years, it has become one of the key venues in which media scholars can publish shorter and timelier pieces, becoming part of current discussions on media matters.

Dr. Griffin's first column, “Love Hurts: Intimacy in the Age of Pervasive Computing,” was published in and focuses on online relationships and excessive attachment to technology. In particular he discusses technology’s negative impact on love and the constant attempts to blur the lines between online and offline communication.
