Nicole Ausmer

Nicole Ausmer (Dr. Aus) serves as Senior Associate Vice President in the Division of Student Life at Denison University, where she contributes to advancing institutional priorities and fostering a culture of excellence, belonging, and student success.

A higher education leader and educator, Nicole brings extensive experience in organizational leadership, educational psychology, and inclusion and belonging. Prior to joining Denison, she held a variety of leadership and administrative roles and led programs and initiatives designed to create inclusive, thriving campus communities. Her commitment to teaching, leadership, and student development is grounded in a belief in the transformative power of education.

Nicole’s work has been recognized at the local, regional, and national levels. In 2026, she served as chair of the Ohio College Personnel Association (OCPA), supporting the professional development and growth of Student Affairs professionals across the state.

A three-time alumna of the University of Cincinnati, Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, a Master of Education in Educational Foundations, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Educational Studies. Additionally, she also holds certifications in Gallup Strengths Coaching, eCornell Inclusion, Dialogue Facilitation, and the Intercultural Development Inventory.

At Denison, Nicole can often be found attending student programs and events, celebrating student milestones, and occasionally line dancing in the Center for Belonging and Inclusion. She believes in showing up for students, building community, and embracing the joy of being a Denisonian.
