Denison Partners on Independent College Visit Days Program

June 25, 2015

Denison University will partner with a state-wide collaboration of Ohio’s private colleges and universities on a new program designed to allow families to visit up to four private schools over two days, Monday and Tuesday, July 13 and 14.

Ohio’s Independent College Visit Days were conceived to help families understand how affordable a private college education can be. The program also highlights other benefits of attending a private college, including high four-year graduation rates and low default rates on student loans. Families can register for a visit at denison.edu/campus/admission/campus-visits.

“Families are understandably concerned about the cost of a private liberal arts education. With Denison’s sound financial base, we are able to offer very generous scholarships,” said Mike Hills, director of admissions for the college. “People may be surprised to know that fewer students graduate with debt from Denison than do from Ohio State, and the average debt of a Denison graduate is more than $5,000 less than the average student debt of Ohio State graduates.” He added, “The excellence of Denison’s liberal arts education is within reach for many families who don’t think they can afford it.”

Families who visit two participating schools during the official Ohio Independent College Visit Days, and who document their visits on Instagram using #YOUCANVisitDays will be entered to win one of five $1,000 YouCan Awards.
