Big Four

The number of honorary degrees Denison bestowed at the 180th commencement. First, to our virtual commencement speaker, The Very Reverend Doctor Kelly Brown Douglas ’79, author and nationally recognized theologian. And second, to Dr. Abigail Norris Turner, Dr. Alison Norris, and Dr. Peter Mohler: three key partners from The Ohio State University who provided support and expertise in helping Denison—and Ohio—navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.

Major news

This semester, we approved and launched new academic programs, including majors in global health, politics and public affairs, and Earth and environmental sciences. Coming soon, students will be able to minor in data for political research, and major or minor in journalism.

Class with a view

This semester, Facilities Services set up nine tents to serve as outdoor classrooms and music practice rooms. They were COVID-safe and provided the opportunity to enjoy campus—all in one. Some days were a little chilly. Some days professors were competing with weed whackers. But all in all, Denisonians got creative to solve problems.
