The Denison Department of Music presents a faculty and guest artist recital featuring Hanna Hurwitz on violin, in collaboration with by guests Colin Stokes, cello, and Daniel Pesca, piano. All three are members of the Zohn Collective, a group dedicated to performing contemporary music. The ensemble consists of nine members, including performers, composers, and a conductor. Zohn Collective is an artist-driven organization that aims to produce projects generated by its members.
Hurwitz, assistant professor of music and coordinator of string studies at Denison, is a musician who equally enjoys performing classics of the repertoire as well as new music of our time. Pesca, who is passionate about collaboration, is as virtuosic a composer as he is a pianist. He is currently assistant professor of Composition at the Eastman School of Music. Stokes is a New York and Berlin-based cellist, composer, electronic artist, and educator performing and recording extensively in the United States, South America, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
