The Tuesday Faculty Lunch Series welcomes Jack Shuler presenting “The Woman Who (May Have) Stopped the Death Penalty.” The current shortage of lethal injection drugs in the US can be traced, in part, to the work of Reprieve International researcher Maya Foa. Foa’s has helped many pharmaceutical companies block the sale of their drugs to death penalty states—including Ohio. But have there been unintended consequences because of her work such as recent botched executions? Or are we witnessing the beginning of the end of the death penalty in the US?
